What gets captured
Peutly records the page itself, not a video. Here's what that means.
Peutly doesn't record a screen video. It captures the page's HTML and styles at every step, so the demo looks and feels like your real product. Viewers can see sharp text at any size, and you can edit text and images afterwards.
What's included
- The page structure (HTML) and its styles, including fonts
- Images, SVGs and
<canvas>content - Content in iframes, including iframes from other domains
- Scrolling, including the scroll position when the step starts
- Changes on the page while you record, like menus opening
- What's typed into form fields
- Changes to the page URL
What's left out
- Passwords. Password fields are always masked.
- Mouse movement. Only clicks become steps. The pointer in the demo is added by Peutly.
- Your browser around the page. Tabs, bookmarks and other extensions aren't recorded.
Other form fields are not masked
Email addresses, names and other text you type are captured as they are. Use a demo account with test data. If something sensitive slips in, use Blur, hide or remove in the editor, or ask the AI assistant to anonymize personal data.
Why HTML instead of video?
